We are currently seeking a Part-time Grant Writer to join our team!
This is a perfect role for someone who loves to research and write! It
is an extremely valuable "behind the scenes role" for our
organization. Hours are between15-20 per week. Please note: the grant
writer does not have responsibility for event assistance or grant
presentations. This is strictly a researching and writing role.
Responsibilities include: completing foundation proposals, managing
the grant calendar including providing necessary reports, and
researching and identifying donor prospects and funding opportunities
and new program areas to match organization priorities. This person
will maintain productive and positive relations with foundation
contacts while working behind the scenes. The Grant Writer follows the
core values, goals, and the objectives and mission of the Raue Center
for the Arts as set forth by the Executive Director and the Board of
Directors.
Requirements: A candidate must have a bachelor's degree in journalism
or the equivalent of 5-7 years experience working in a writing
capacity; at least 5 years progressive business experience in a
corporate or non-profit entity; and knowledge of the Illinois
philanthropic community. The candidate must be mature and possess
excellent oral and written communication skills; superior
organizational skills and attention to details; ability to work
independently as well as in a team environment; and strong working
knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite products.
