FitMoney, a start-up nonprofit in Newton,MA, is seeking a part-time Curriculum Developer to develop grade-specific financial literacy curriculums. The ideal candidate will be creative and resourceful and must be able to collaborate effectively with nonprofit staff and educators. Experience in teaching, standards-based education, curriculum development and assessment is desirable.


- Develop a standards-based financial literacy curriculum for four grades (1st, 5th, 7th, and 9th); assess and revise the existing fourth grade curriculum
- Create vertically aligned curriculum maps that scaffold financial literacy knowledge, skills and understanding
- Create detailed unit documents by grade that outline the desired results with goals broken down into knowledge and skills students will acquire to gain understanding of financial literacy and independently transfer learning to new situations
- Create detailed unit documents for each grade that outline acceptable student evidence of learning (assessments) and evaluative criteria
- Analyze third-party school-based financial literacy programs and leverage accordingly to propose a student learning plan that is relevant, creative, and interdisciplinary
- Collaborate with North Andover Public School's curriculum coordinator and teachers in the creation of financial literacy curriculums
- Develop all participant and trainer materials by grade


- Bachelor's Degree in Education, Finance, or a related field
- A minimum of 5 years in instructional design
- Experience teaching personal finance or in financial services
- Proficiency in Google Apps (Docs, Slides, Sheets)
- Self starter with strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent project management skills
- Strong creative and critical thinking capabilities
- Commitment to the mission and vision of FitMoney


This role is a 10-20 per week contract position expected to last through June. Potential for additional work in the future. Position will require occasional meetings in Newton and North Andover.
