The Association of VA Hematology Oncology (AVAHO) is dedicated to its mission in providing leadership to deliver quality comprehensive care to veterans with cancer. The membership is primarily comprised of dedicated health care professionals from a variety of disciplines who are employed by VHA; however, AVAHO is not affiliated with, nor supported by VA.
AVAHO is seeking a dynamic individual who is passionate about health care for U.S. veterans to serve as a part-time Executive Director for the Organization. The candidate must be willing to enthusiastically support the mission of the organization, have demonstrated skills at establishing and fostering relationships, and possess strong business acumen. Knowledge of, or experience in healthcare is desired as is knowledge of VHA policies and procedures. Prior experience with grant writing is a plus.
Key priorities for this position include:
- Devising strategies and activities to meet the goals of the Organization's strategic plan;
- Establish and maintain relationships with various organizations and utilize those relationships to strategically enhance the mission of AVAHO;
- Develop value proposition and business model for the Organization
The Administrative Office is located in Lynwood WA; however, the incumbent may work remotely. The incumbent will be expected to travel to our annual conference and in-person board meetings.
