The Humane League, an international farmed animal advocacy organization, seeks a Donor Relations Manager based on the West Coast, ideally in Los Angeles or the San Francisco Bay area. The Donor Relations Manager will work with the Director of Development to develop and implement a fundraising program that engages individual donors by leveraging the unique assets and reach of The Humane League. The Donor Relations Manager is responsible for building the base of support through annual fund outreach, prospecting and stewardship of gifts ($1,000+) from regional donors, and supporting regional fundraising events. The successful candidate will be passionate about The Humane League's mission, have the ability to work independently and as a member of a team in a fast-paced environment, and be able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively and efficiently.

Primary Duties

Manage and implement strategies to increase the number of individual donors and overall donation amounts including:

- Manage direct mail process for semi-annual appeals
- Manage national peer-to-peer fundraising program
- Draft tailored donor correspondence, proposals, reports, and other communications as needed
- Provide research on regional major donor prospects and conduct meetings with individual donors
- Develop and lead geographically-based committees of donor volunteers to host private house parties
- Provide support for regional Grassroots Directors with their Annual Gala Events
- Ensure proper and timely acknowledgement and recognition of donations (<$500)
- Update donor information in Salesforce
- Analyze donor data and provide detailed reports for management
- Travel to support relationships as required
- Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

- Three or more years of directly applicable professional experience in individual fundraising and special events management
- Strong ability to communicate persuasively, both verbally and in writing
- Demonstrates a "can do" attitude and a proven track record of meeting deadlines
- Experience in Project Management, including establishing project scope, timelines, and execution
- Ability to travel to support relationships and events as required
- Outstanding organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail
- Experience with relational databases (e.g. Salesforce) and spreadsheets (e.g. Excel)
- Strong capacity to work independently and execute on project ideas
- Ability to maintain the highest degree of confidentiality regarding all aspects of work at all times
- Willingness to take direction and embrace a collaborative spirit
- Ability to maintain composure, flexibility, and a sense of humor under tight deadlines
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize activities, and be flexible in adjusting expectations as new developments occur
- Background or demonstrated interest in farmed animal welfare

This is a full-time, at-will remote position based on the West Coast, ideally in Los Angeles or the San Francisco Bay area.
