Pediment Publishing is seeking an organized, detail-oriented self starter to join our dedicated team as a client services representative. We are publishers of coffee-table books and other fine-art publications. We work with media clients (primarily newspapers) to create pictorial history books, sports championship books, natural disaster books, fine-art photography books, personality books, and so on. As a Pediment client services representative, you will be responsible for client-facing interactions related to the publication of these books.

The client services representative job, in a nutshell:

Pediment is growing--and fast! We need a client services representative to help handle this growth. In a nutshell, the client services representative serves our clients by managing their book projects from start (just after sales) to finish (printed books).

The client services representative is the client's one point of contact with Pediment throughout a book project, from helping to secure content partners to coordinating all client-facing aspects of a project. Practically, this means the client services representative is a project manager with a friendly, client-first mentality.

The client services representative assists in getting the project off the ground, which often includes securing third-party content sources such as historical societies and university archives. The client services representative coordinates with the Pediment production manager and other company departments to ensure the project matches the client's expectations. The client services representative conveys responsibilities, proof cycles, deadlines, and other essentials to the client as set by the production manager. On an ongoing basis, the client services representative maintains client relationships and serves their needs year after year.

Duties and responsibilities:

- Answers to VP of sales
- Cultivates existing client relationships
- Secures content partners for book projects
- Manages book projects for clients, from scheduling content partners to coordinating book production cycles to helping clients with promotion--all client-facing aspects of projects fall within client services representative's purview.
- Works with production manager on client requests, project production schedules, etc...
- Understands client needs and becomes their advocate
- Generates book sales reports and helps client understand sales trends
- Helps client realize full revenue potential through promotional strategies, sponsorship opportunities, etc.
- Manages details of account using CRM (Pipedrive)
- Manages project using online management system (Basecamp)
- Supports VP of sales on clients/projects as needed

This position is perfect for those with experience as a project manager, project coordinator, account representative, client representative, client services rep (CSR), or commissioning editor.

Requirements

- 2+ years experience as an client services representative, project manager, or related
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Strong sense of ownership--ability to "own" a client relationship and client project
- Ability to skillfully use online systems to track and monitor client projects, organize priorities and manage calendar milestones across all projects
- High-level of comfort speaking with top-level executives on the phone
- Publishing industry experience preferred
- Experience with CRM software such as Salesforce, Highrise or Pipedrive preferred
- Experience with project management software such as Basecamp preferred
- Familiarity with Excel or Google Sheets preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and relationship building skills
- Energetic self-starter with strong initiative
- Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
