World Hope International is a Christian relief and development organization dedicated to alleviating poverty, suffering, and injustice wherever it can be found. At WHI, we take a holistic approach to tackling poverty. We partner with local communities to determine the most sustainable, grassroots solutions to injustice and oppression, with the ultimate goal of transferring ownership of all development initiatives to the community. Through these partnerships, we are committed to reflecting Christ's compassion for all who suffer.

OBJECTIVE: The Director of Community Development is responsible for leading all aspects of WHI's rural development program to meet the holistic needs of children and families. The majority of Community Development programming is funded by Child Sponsorship, although there are other funding streams like Village Partnership (VPs), where U.S. churches are paired with villages to support development activities. In some countries, this position oversees a holistic approach to community development. In other countries, this position oversees education-only work at partner schools in collaboration with The Wesleyan Church. The Director of Community Development works closely with the Director of Child Sponsorship who oversees child data management, child communication, sponsor gift management, and sponsor reporting.
