As part of the Sales Enablement Team, the Proposal Writer will report to the Senior Proposal Manager and is responsible for supporting project management and technical writing to fulfill the execution of Grand Rounds' RFP and RFI responses. The Proposal Writer will be focused on generating proposals that demonstrate the value of Grand Rounds to prospects and third party evaluators from large national and multinational employers in order to drive new sales.

In this cross-functional role you will collaborate closely with sales enablement team members, field sales, product marketing, and subject matter experts within most departments. You will be responsible for clear, effective technical writing as well as effective cross-functional project management, especially given the time-sensitive nature of the deliverables. You will maintain and update the RFP library and will be a subject matter expert on our solutions, as well as our company practices and policies that influence our working relationships with our customers.

In Your First 30 Days

- Onboard with the Grand Rounds team in San Francisco and engage in internal learning and understanding
- Collaborate with proposal management, sales enablement, product marketing, product development, account management, and operations to master the Grand Rounds solution and operating model
- Begin supporting field reps on current sales opportunities

In Your First 60 Days

- Develop a strong internal network or cross-functional resources
- Develop a deep understanding of existing sales methodology and process in order to make process improvements for future opportunities

In Your First 90 Days

- Support larger and increasingly more complex RFPs/RFIs
- Become a subject matter expert in our solutions and compelling ways to communicate about them


- Together with the Senior Proposal Manager, lead proposal development including review of RFP/RFI requirements and questions, drafting new proposal content, merging answers from related prior submissions, reviewing answers with subject matter experts, copy editing, and project managing the RFP/RFI process
- Determine proposal content by identifying and clarifying opportunities and needs; study requests for proposal (RFPs); attend strategy meetings
- Serve as the writing liaison to subject matter experts from many departments, including sales, marketing, product, customer success, legal, and the care and medical teams
- Be aware of all corporate policies, including HIPAA compliance and data security requirements
- Participate in the brainstorming and implementation of new messaging and copy that will accelerate Grand Rounds sales and marketing goals
- Meet proposal submission deadlines by establishing priorities and target dates for information gathering, writing, review, and approval; entering and monitoring tracking data; coordinating requirements with contributors
- Maintain quality results by using templates; following proposal-writing standards including readability, consistency, and tone; maintaining proposal support databases.
- Ability to manage cyclical workload with tight timelines
- Support other written content creation when RFP/RFI pace is slower
- Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; maintaining personal networks


- College degree, English or Journalism majors preferred
- Strong written communication skills and familiarity with technical writing and editing
- Strong project management skills, ability to collaborate effectively cross-functionally
- Experience working on deadline-driven projects with tight turnarounds while balancing multiple projects with competing needs
- Build strong relationships cross-functional in efforts to influence collaboration on tight timeframes
- Strong Microsoft Office and Adobe skills - RFP software experience is a plus
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Experience in a high growth, fast changing environment
