Title: Launch Manager for Mixed In Key
Date Posted: 2017-12-23
Location: Not mentioned
Hey guys,

We are the creators of Mixed In Key (https://mixedinkey.com/), Captain Plugins (https://mixedinkey.com/captain-plugins), Odesi (http://odesi.mixedinkey.com/) and lots of other software. We're constantly releasing new software, and we want to hire a manager who can help us launch new software every 2 weeks.

How does this work?

We have lots of checklists that we follow. For example:

- Write an email newsletter
- Put together a post for Facebook
- Make sure all the beta-testing feedback has been solved
- Make sure that we have a How-To Guide written to explain new features, etc.

Once all those checkboxes are completed, we can release the product and announce it. Since we're doing this anywhere from 2 to 10 times a month, we need a dedicated person who can constantly run through those checklists and make sure that every micro-launch goes smoothly

What skills do you need?

- You have to be a superb communicator. Your writing needs to be easy to read, easy to understand and enjoyable to learn from. This job involves a lot of writing of articles, web page text, etc. It's a job that involves 80% communication and 20% planning.
- You have to take lots of initiative. There will probably be 40-50 tasks for each release, and you'll have to make sure they are all done to everyone's satisfaction. If a task couldn't be completed the first time around, you have to go back and make sure it gets done eventually. "Initiative" is the best word to describe what we're looking for.
- Most of the tasks require you to understand the big picture in any situation. If you're good at seeing the big picture, this job becomes much easier
- Knowledge of music software. If you have experience with Ableton Live, Mixed In Key, or any other DJ/music production tools, it'll make your job much easier because you can relate to your audience and understand the terminology we use

Is this a technical job? Not really. The person we hire will make sure that every product is working correctly, comes with great documentation, has lots of articles written about it, etc. It's not a software development job, and it doesn't require you to know programming languages. It's much more of a people management, task management and idea management job.

If you'd love to work in the music industry and launch new software every 2 weeks, let us know. We'd love to learn about your interests.
