Seeq is a data analytics startup. What makes us different is that we're going after a big market that's often overlooked by tech companies: industrial process data. Think pharmaceutical manufacturers, wind farms, and energy companies with tons of equipment and sensors. We're applying a unique mix of technologies and a deep understanding of the problems faced by these industries to build and refine a product that's a giant leap over existing tools and methodologies.

Our company is 100% remote. You can work anywhere in the US (we're staying in compatible time-zones for now). We use a variety of collaboration tools, like Zoom and Slack, which makes us feel like we're in the same building together. We have a stacked team of mutually supportive and talented team members that love to collaborate, teach each other new tricks, and build products that far exceed our customers' expectations.

Although we are still in start-up phase, we are considering bringing a talented "rock star" on our leadership team to serve as CFO ahead of a typical schedule. We just loaded up with a $20M Series B round, and we want our CFO to help us effectively invest it for our future growth. In addition to leading our accounting and finance functions we are looking for the person who could potentially take on some or all of the following tasks:

- Strategic Analysis: Compile results from our sales team, project managers, and analytics analysts to help analyze the cost-benefit analysis our customers achieve from the use of our products.
- Pricing: Collect inputs from team members and chair our pricing strategy sessions. Maintain our pricing list and strategy and provide creative solutions to assist our sales team in closing deals while protecting Seeq's financial success.
- Proposal Leadership: Help prepare our customer proposals including managing the quote sections and ROI analysis section. Ensure that all projects are adequately analyzed and documented to promote our future business interests.
- Metrics: Help to develop and compile metrics that define our business operations and sales penetration models.
- Business Models: Help us to evolve our business models for our operations and how we deliver value to our customers as we grow and then scale our business.
- Fund Raising: Work with our CEO to assist in the raising of future rounds of venture capital or other forms of financing. Lead the due diligence activities and deal documents.
- Position Seeq Systems for Growth: Help to devise the right level of compliance and formality at each stage of growth. We are positioning ourselves for a future equity event, but we don't want to stifle our agility prematurely nor get so far behind we can't readily mature our systems in time.
- Teacher: Ability to help teammates put together business plans and proposals for new initiatives.

The candidate we choose may not have done everything on our list, but has sufficient talent, energy, passion, and interpersonal skills that will enable her growth in the role well ahead of our planned scaling profile. The ideal candidate is likely to have many of the following characteristics:

- Appropriate degree or degrees, certificates, training, and self-study to support growth in the role.
- Strong background and understanding of accounting, finance, and treasury functions. Will have the ability to plan, lead, and grow the accounting and administrative functions as the company grows and scales.
- Understanding of risk management, compliance, and business processes needed for an equity event including possible IPO.
- Exposure to business practices across B2B business models to ensure that the company scales its checks and balances across the organization.
- Ability to serve as a strategic analyst thoroughly documenting the ROI from the use of Seeq products and services.
- Comfortable with new technologies for internal processes and delivery to our customers. Nonetheless is a spreadsheet jockey and is an effective user of MS Office desktop and online tools.
- Ability to collaborate and build ties with other executives in the organization but capable of affirmatively protecting the company's assets and future when needed.
- Has served in roles outside of finance and accounting, thereby gaining perspective and exposure to other company functions including sales, engineering, and support.

The CEO is currently serving as the acting CFO and is planning to relinquish the role as soon as practical and is expecting to partner with the new CFO during the transition and going forward.
