Am I Required To Pay Taxes If I Work from Home.

19 January 2011 No Comment

We recently received an email from a reader in Tampa who wanted to know if he’s required to pay taxes being that he works from home. I guess he works on a freelance or contract basis, so weekly deductions are a thing of the past for him. With tax season creeping up on us, it’s one of those questions we normally receive this time of the year. I’m not sure if it’s a misconception that people have that when you work from home you don’t have to pay taxes, but in the latest episode of “The Work From Home Minute” we discuss this in detail to clear the air. Additionally I’ll share a tip I use to have money ready to pay the taxes I owe and not be scrambling to try and pay it off without accumulating interest and other charges.

Note: This video is not meant to be professional tax advice, please consult an accountant as everyone’s situation is unique.

Feel free to leave me your comments or questions below. (BTW, there was some sort of problem with my laptop when I recorded this latest video, so you’ll see that my voice does not match my lips.. I do apologize for this)
