Going from the pool to the hot tub.

11 October 2009 No Comment

I’d like to take a moment to apologize for such a long delay in posting. If you’re following me on Twitter you’d know that we were away on (working) vacation / wedding  for my youngest sister. Though I did make time for some work  it did not include time for blogging… that time was spent cooling off by the pool or one of the many beaches we visited. I can officially say that I HATE cold weather. The morning of our flight I had to take one final dip in the pool before we left, where the outside temperature was about 35 C (about 95 F), however when we returned back to Canada we were greeted by a chilly 6C (about 48F) and a cocky immigration officer. I ended up going into the hot tub to warm up, since we didn’t have the furnace on in the house when we were gone. Imagine that, in less than 12 hrs (flight and drive time) we had to endure such a drop in temp.

Here’s a tip if you’re traveling and still plan on working remotely as I did. I didn’t take my laptop with me, since it got busted a few days before we left so I resorted to using my sister’s MAC. And though I packed everything I thought I needed, I wasn’t aware that MACs don’t come with a multi-card reader (probably her MAC is old?) so I never packed one that would connect via usb. There I was ready  to post some videos and pics on the various blogs I have and I couldn’t. So if you plan on using a computer that’s not yours to work remotely while you travel, be sure to know a bit about that computer before you get there. This will allow you to be better prepared and avoid the situation I found myself in.

It’s Thanksgiving weekend here in Canada, so to all our Canadian readers.. Happy Thanksgiving!

BTW, the pic of the boat you see is the water taxi that Tehya and I took from Port of Spain to San Fernando ( Capital city and next major city in Trinidad). Due to the number of cars on the highways, people coming into the capital in the mornings are guaranteed to be stuck in traffic for a few hrs daily. Thus the government started a new water taxi service that very cheap and runs rather effeciently.
