How to export your Firefox bookmarks to another computer.

We’ll be traveling soon on a multi-purpose trip to the Caribbean. My youngest sister is getting married, it’s been a while since we’ve had a family vacation and we’re also exploring the idea of moving down to the Caribbean. This means some time will also be spent looking at real estate and schools etc for the girls. What may seem like a packed agenda, really isn’t since we’ll be gone for about 2 weeks. Unlike most people who tend to walk away from “work” when they go on vacation, I’m not the type to leave things behind or unattended. After-all I work from home or anywhere I can get an internet connection from. Don’t be fooled into thinking that the Caribbean is backward when it comes to technology… at times I connect at speeds even faster than what I have in Canada.

Though I won’t be packing my laptop, I’ll be packing the next best thing – a memory stick. I’ll be using one of my sister’s computers (first time on a mac) to work a couple hrs every morning (even on vacation I’m up at 6 am or earlier), while everyone still sleeps. This way my work will not get in the way of doing fun stuff. On the memory stick I have things such as a schedule of what I want to complete, local contacts, passwords to membership sites and hosting accounts etc and this morning I added a back-up of all my bookmarks. I would hate to arrive and not have links to all the sites I use as part of my daily work and… play.

One of the things I spoke about on Obzokee.com a number of times is the importance of backing up your work and computer in general. So even if you’re not like me and off on a vacation anytime soon, you should back up your bookmarks as well. If you use a Firefox browser as I do, here’s a short video showing how simple this is….
