No snow in Canada for winter Olympics?

21 January 2010 No Comment

Imagine my surprise when I heard that on the radio this morning as I drove Indy and Tehya to school. WHAT!! No snow in Canada.. aren’t we known for being the coldest, so much snow that we travel by dog sleds, live in igloos..etc?  It’s been a relatively mild winter for us (knock on wood) and I’m enjoying every minute. However the organizers of the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics are having a tough time dealing with the lack of natural snow. It’s being reported that not only do we not have enough snow, there isn’t enough time to make snow, so snow is being trucked in at the different venues. No worries though.. the show will go on!
