What process does Genuine Jobs use to verify that the job posted is not a scam or something that can potentially pose a legal issue to the person hired? Or does Genuine Jobs put that responsibility on the folks looking for work at home employment?

  • Linda said:

Yes, I would like to know the answer to that question as well. We are communicating with people in other countries. How do we know that these are legitimate jobs or are they scams? How do you know?

Like any other classifieds you should use caution and do you own research. Our Researchers try their best to weed out possible scams, but there may be the occasion when some may slip through (well worded / deceptive). This is why we ask users that if they come across a position posted in our database that should be flagged, they should contact us immediately. When that happens we can remove the positing and warn others in case they come across the same post elsewhere on the internet.

Use common sense and ask questions (our support team is there to help and you can also post comments here).

I applied for this job. It has all the makings of a scam. Though you don't really realize until the third or fourth email. They're requesting personal information, and also th at you handle a money transaction for one of their clients. Bogus stuff.

"using the Microsoft Word"? Who would refer to Microsoft Word as "the" Microsoft Word? "the electronic system" – same mistake. I assume they meant "an" electronic system. The word "this" is not capitalized in the third sentence, and "we will supply all training" should be "we will provide all training". And what is "out telecommute"? The period after immediately is also incorrect. Anyway, all things considered, it's a pretty bad ad – hard tot rust a company that would lake this many mistakes in a simple job post.

I would like to apply for the part-time job for clerical support worker. Could you connect me to where I should apply for the job.

Well, I'm happy that I'm not alone in my thoughts and opinions about this position.

You are correct there should be caution with all of these postings. As stated in one of the other comments they are very deceptive and work really hard at reeling you in. They made a lot of grammatical mistakes in the posting, but they know the right things to say. Once I received the one this morning about the "test of trust" (and they totally ignored the comments about how I am suppose to test their trust by the way) and reviewed what they wanted me to do I knew that this has to be a scam. You need to check this out and warn the users about this one.

I agree. Seems like this clerical support job is mostly a scam from what I hear. BTW, what is the link to this job location in order to apply for it? I'd like to check it out and see it for myself.
