This is why we work from home.
Is it wrong to want to take a break and just sit on the couch or go back to bed, even though you have a ton of work to do? Personally I like to get my work completed and I don’t ever recall just wasting away my day in front of the the tv as far as I can remember. In previous posts I’ve mentioned that not only am I up at about 6 am every morning, I go straight to work after cleaning myself up and taking our girls to school. I like to make the most of my day and though it’s very easy for me as a home worker to go back to bed or do anything else besides work. I simply can’t.I’ve programmed myself from a youth to make the most of the day.
Yesterday was different. Caron was just back from working a 12hr night shift and before going to get her I had to shovel the driveway to get out. Seeing her all comfy in bed (my office is on the way to the bedroom) I actually got a desire to hit the sacks as well. It was 9 am and there’s no way I’m going back to bed. I decided to get some toast and watch the news. Yup.. I was dozing off while watching the morning news. Though I tried my best, I ended up falling asleep and I really enjoyed it.
The reason for sharing this with you?
I’ve been working long days the past few months, especially with the launch of my latest project (Large dog beds) and though I’m one to not complain and I usually work through being tired, I have to tell you that it’s ok to take a break and do absolutely nothing. Isn’t this the reason why we work from home? So we can work according to our own schedules. Don’t get me wrong… wasting time is wasting time no matter how you look at it, but if you’re genuinely exhausted and need some rest.. TAKE IT! Stress and working from home is closely related, so don’t put yourself in that position.
Cheers
Chris…
