Weekend work from home lifestyle.
This past weekend saw me take my work on the road. Not really, since I didn’t really work. It was just a matter of using my blackberry to log in for a few minutes to check my stats and to ensure all my web properties we’re fully functional. The work from home lifestyle is one that allows for such freedom. We spent both Saturday and Sunday with our daughter and her cheer leading team at the Ontario Championships.
Yes, in most 9-5 jobs you don’t have to work on weekends, but if you work shift work or on weekends, there are many instances when you will have to make the choice to work (pay bills, buy food, pay rent/mortgage) or support your child at events. I can boast that in the past 11 years I’ve not missed any events that our daughters have been involved in, nor did I have to make special arrangements to get time off work. I’m sure many of you have had to switch shifts with other coworkers just to get time off to do things that’s important to you and your family.
If this alone is not a good reason to investigate the idea of a work at home career, I don’t know how else to convince you. BTW, we’ve never had to pay for day care and we have 3 children who are now all teenagers. Check out the latest batch of vacant work at home type jobs at the jobs list. Maybe one of them could see you enjoying the work from home lifestyle as I do.
